The powers conferred under Rule 16 (1) of the Petroleum Rules, 2002, and in continuation of the notification of Govt., of India, Ministry of Shipping No. S.O.1598(E) dated 17th July, 2012.
This notification, S.O. 2348(E), issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Ports Wing, on August 21, 2015, amends a previous notification S.O. 1598(E) dated July 17, 2012, regarding petroleum imports. Exercising powers conferred under Rule 161 of the Petroleum Rules, 2002, the Central Government, considering the necessity of importing petroleum in the public interest, hereby notifies Sikka Port in Gujarat as a designated port for importing petroleum into India by sea. This notification extends the designation for a further period of three years, effective August 30, 2015. The responsible authority is Joint Secretary N. Muruganandam, as indicated by F. No. PD2501832015MP.

S.O. 2348(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 16 (1) of the Petroleum Rules, 2002, and in
continuation of the notification of Government of India, Ministry of Shipping No. S.O.1598(E) dated 17th July, 2012 the
Central Government, in consideration of the necessity to import petroleum in public interest, hereby notifies Sikka
