Ministry of Tribal Affairs The Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA) प्रव तथ: 04 DEC 2025 5:45PM by PIB Delhi (a) The Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA), launched as Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) on 2nd October 2024, targets 63,843 tribal-majority villages spread over 549 districts and 2,911 blocks in 30 States/UTs, benefiting over 5 crore tribal persons in five years (FY 2024-25 to FY 2028-29). A State/UT-wise list of identified villages including Dumka, Jharkhand, Kanker under Kanker Lok Sabha Constituency Kondagaon, Balod and Dhamtari districts of Chhattisgarh, Mandi in Uttar Pradesh, Mandi Lok Sabha Constituency in Himachal Pradesh, Bhilwara Lok Sabha Constituency in Rajasthan and West/East Champaran in Bihar and Jalgaon Lok Sabha Constituency of Maharashtra is as per Annexure. Villages were selected based on Antyodaya gap analysis and prescribed norms. In plains areas, villages with a population of 500 or more and having at least 50% Scheduled Tribe (ST) population were considered. For North-Eastern and Hill States, villages with a population of 250 or more were included. In Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts, villages with a population of 100 or more were selected. Along with this, villages located in Aspirational Blocks having 50 or more tribal persons were also covered under the scheme. Time Limit (Phase & Overall): The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) is a five- year mission spanning FY 2024–25 to FY 2028–29. (b) The funds released particularly for the State of Chhattisgarh in respect of tribal development are as under: PMAY-G (Housing): In Chhattisgarh, 8.47 lakh houses have been sanctioned historically, with an additional 3.03 lakh houses approved in Jan 2025, aligned with the mission’s saturation goals. However, under the On 15th November 2023, Hon'ble Prime Minister launched Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha AbhiyaN (PM JANMAN) for socio-economic development of 75 PVTG communities residing in 18 states and one UT including Chhattisgarh. The mission aims to provide basic facilities to improve their socio-economic conditions such as safe housing, clean drinking water and improved access to education, health and nutrition, road and telecom connectivity, electrification of unelectrified households and sustainable livelihood opportunities. These objectives are being met through 11 interventions implemented by 9-line Ministries". (f) Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA) or Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) covers 112 tribal-majority villages in Jalgaon. As on date, this Ministry has not received proposals for Jalgaon District.
