**Summary:** The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Amendment Ordinance, 2014, No. 3 of 2014, was promulgated by the President of India on May 28, 2014 (Jaishtha 7, 1936 Saka). This ordinance amends the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997. The key amendment pertains to Section 5 of the Act, specifically regarding the post-employment restrictions on the Chairperson and whole-time members of TRAI. The ordinance stipulates that the Chairperson and whole-time members are restricted from accepting employment under the Central Government, any State Government, or any appointment in a telecommunication service company for a period of two years after demitting office, without the prior approval of the Central Government. Furthermore, the explanation at the end of the section has been omitted. The ordinance came into force with immediate effect.
