Nagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Bejjanki, Koheda, Husnabad etc in Karimnagar and surrounding towns. Highway - Karimnagar-Vemulawada-Siricilla and Karimnagar-Bejjanki-Husnabad-Mulkanoor­ Elkaturthy-Huzurabad- Karimnagar. Passing through Siddipet bypass, Samudrala and Kesavapatnam etc .. The Telecom Regulatory Authority oflndia (TRAI) has released findings oflndependent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Karimnagar City and Highway under AP LSA, during the month of May 2026, for information of general telecom consumers. The purpose of this drive test is to assess and verify real time quality of mobile network services (both voice & data) provided by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs ). During the IDT, TRAI captures performance of TSPs for key Quality of Service (QoS) parameters like Coverage, Call Drop Rate (CDR), Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), data Download (DL) and Upload (UL) throughput etc., which are then published to inform Consumers and encourage TSPs to improve their services. 2. These IDTs have been designed to capture on ground mobile network performance ofall TSPs across diverse usages environment like cities, hotspots, public transport hubs, etc. In this type of drive testing, live data and voice sessions are established using SIM cards from all TSPs over 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. Multiple advanced test handsets are used, and the sessions are monitored and analysed in real-time using advanced Software Systems. 3. TRAI, through its appointed agency, conducted drive tests across City drive - 136.3 Krns, Hotspot locations - 3, Highway - 217.2 Krns in Karimnagar and surrounding towns and Karimnagar-Vemulawada-Siricilla and Karimnagar-Bejjanki- Husnabad- Mulkanoor­ Elkaturthy-Huzurabad- Karimnagar -Highway during 1 lth May 2026 to 12th May 2026 in Andhra Pradesh LSA. These tests were conducted under the supervision of the TRAI Regional Office Hyderabad. The observations presented in drive test reports represent the performance of the TSPs on the area/ route under test on the day/ time of conducting the drive test. 4. Key Parameters Assessed a) Coverage Gap: Percentage of samples, for which signal strength observed less than the minimum prescribed signal strength for respective technology (2G/ 3G/ 4G/ 5G). b) Voice Services: Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), Drop Call Rate (DCR), Call Setup Time, Call Silence Rate, Speech Quality (MOS). c) Call Silence Instance: Number ofcall silence instance occurred during the calls. d) Data Servies: Download/ Upload Throughput, Latency, Jitter, Packet Drop Rate 6. The overall mobile network performance in Hyderabad for the key parameters has been summarised below:­ 1. Karimnagar and surrounding towns: a) Coverage Gap - (i) The signal strength observed during voice testing on the drive test route in auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G), measured as the number of samples having poor signal strength out of the total samples collected, was 103/24435 for Airtel, 1879/24174 for BSNL, 271/24231 for RJIL and 747/24307 for VIL. Details of the coverage gaps have been provided in the map Annexed. (ii)The signal strength observed during voice testing on the drive test route in auto­ selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G), measured as the number ofsamples having Limited Service (No Coverage) out of the total samples collected, was 0/24435 for Airtel, 22/24174 for BSNL, 0/24231 for RJIL and 0/24307 for VIL. Details ofthe coverage gaps have been provided in the map Annexed. b) Dropped Calls - Dropped calls, measured as the number of dropped calls out of the number of successfully established calls, were 0/218 for Airtel, 1/215 for BSNL, 1/218 for RJIL and 1/218 for VIL. Details of the dropped call locations have been provided in the map Annexed. c) Call Silence Instance - Call silence instances, measured as the total number of silence instances observed for > 3 seconds out of the total calls established, were 0/212 for Airtel, 12/1 71 for BSNL 1/ 211 RJIL and 2/211 for VIL. Details of the call silence instance locations have been provided in the map Annexed. d) Data Download and Upload Throughput: i) Data Download performance (Overall): Average download speed was observed as 115.67 Mbps for Airtel (5G/4G), 7.32 Mbps for BSNL (3G), 217.63 Mbps for RJIL (5G/4G) and 18.96 Mbps for VIL (5G/4G/2G). Detail of Download throughput has been provided in the map Annexed. ii) Data Upload performance (Overall): Average upload speed was observed as 22.79 Mbps for Airtel (5G/4G), 2.07 Mbps for BSNL (3G), 19.88 Mbps for RJIL (5G/4G) and 6.07 Mbps for VIL (5G/4G/2G). Detail ofUpload throughput has been provided in the map Annexed. 2. Highway :Karimnagar-Vemulawada-Siricilla and Karimnagar-Bejjanki­ Husnabad- Mulkanoor Elkaturthy-Huzurabad- Karimnagar a) Coverage Gap -The signal strength observed during voice testing on the drive test route in auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G), measured as the number of samples having poor signal strength out of the total samples collected, was 384/ 16743 for Airtel, 3657/16413 for BSNL, 1021116646 for RJIL and 1687116718 for VIL. Details ofthe coverage gaps have been provided in the map Annexed. (ii) The signal strength observed during voice testing on the drive test route in auto­ selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G), measured as the number ofsamples having LimitedService (No Coverage) out of the total samples collected, was 0/16743 for Airtel, 126/16413 for BSNL, 0/16646 for RJIL and 0/16718 for VIL. Details of the coverage gaps have been provided in the map Annexed. b) Dropped Calls - Dropped calls, measured as the number of dropped calls out of the number ofsuccessfully established calls, were 0/85 for Airtel, 13/87for BSNL, 0/85 for RJIL and 3/80 for VIL. Details ofthe dropped call locations have been provided in the map Annexed. c) Call Silence Instance - Call silence instances, measured as the total number of silence instances observed for > 3 seconds out of the total calls established, were 3/84 for Airtel, 6/75 for BSNL 4/83 RJIL and 8/83 for VIL. Details ofthe call silence instance locations have been provided in the map Annexed. d) Data Download and Upload Throughput: i) Data Download performance (Overall): Average download speed was observed as 143.64 Mbps for Airtel (5G/4G), 8.31 Mbps for BSNL (3G), 255.87 Mbps for RJIL (5G/4G) and 20.59 Mbps for VIL (5G/4G/2G). Detail of Download throughput has been provided in the map Annexed. ii) Data Upload performance (Overall): Average upload speed was observed as 22.26 Mbps for Airtel (5G/4G), 2.37 Mbps for BSNL (3G), 18.39 Mbps for RJIL (5G/4G) and 6.79 Mbps for VIL (5G/4G/2G). Details of drive test route and area covered during the IDT is as under:­ City - Vavilalapally, Vidyanagar, Ashoknagar, Mukarampura, Vemulawada, B.Y . Nagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Bejjanki, Koheda, Husnabad etc in Karimnagar and surrounding towns. Highway - Karimnagar-Vemulawada-Siricilla and Karimnagar-Bejjanki-Husnabad­ Mulkanoor- Elkaturthy-Huzurabad- Karimnagar. Passing through Siddipet bypass, Samudrala and Kesavapatnam etc. Hotspot -The hot spot locations, capturing stationary user experience, are 1.Collectorate Office Karimnagar 2. Tower Circle Karimnagar 3. Vemulawada Temple and Market Street. 8. The findings of this IDT report have been shared with respective TSPs for taking further necessary action at their end.
