**Summary:**
As of August 21, 2025, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs reported on the Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojna (PMAAGY) in response to a parliamentary question. Under the PMAAGY scheme, the government received proposals for 36,428 Village Development Plans (VDPs) from state governments, of which 17,656 villages were approved. Implemented from fiscal year 2021-22 to 2025-26, PMAAGY aimed for integrated socio-economic development in villages with significant tribal populations through a convergence approach. The scheme focused on addressing developmental gaps in eight key sectors: road connectivity, telecom connectivity (mobile internet), schools, Anganwadi Centres, health sub-centers, drinking water facilities, drainage, and solid waste management. The PMAAGY scheme has been subsumed under the newly launched DAJGUA (Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan) effective from fiscal year 2024-25, and is no longer operational for new proposals.
