Ministry of Electronics & IT UIDAI Announces Winners of Biometrics SDK Benchmarking Challenge 2025 प्रव तथ: 12 DEC 2025 4:18PM by PIB Delhi The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has concluded the Biometrics SDK Benchmarking Challenge 2025 for Fingerprint modality with a recognition ceremony for the winners at its Head Office in New Delhi. Launched as part of UIDAI’s ongoing efforts to foster innovation and advance biometric research, the challenge aimed to identify high-performing 1:1 fingerprint matching solution from leading global technology providers and research institutions. A notable feature of this challenge was the use of a unique long-term fingerprint dataset of children aged 5 to 10 years with a 5–10-year gap for each sample for testing purposes and to measure how well do fingerprint verification systems operating in a one-to-one comparison setting hold up as children grow. It’s a rare and scientifically valuable dataset that demonstrates UIDAI’s commitment to evidence-based evaluation and global best practices. The competition received an overwhelming 2,106 applications, reflecting strong global interest in UIDAI’s benchmarking initiatives. After rigorous technical screening and adherence to strict security protocols, three submissions were selected for the final evaluation. Following a range of comprehensive performance tests, Neurotechnology, Lithuania secured 1st position, and Innovatrics, Slovakia secured 2nd position. UIDAI congratulated the winners and appreciated all participants for their enthusiastic engagement. The Authority reaffirmed that such initiatives are part of its larger mission to continuously strengthen research, development, and innovation in biometrics, ensuring that Aadhaar remains at the forefront of secure, reliable, and inclusive digital identity services. To further advance this mission, UIDAI will soon launch similar SDK Benchmarking Competitions for Face and Iris modalities, inviting the global R&D community to participate and collaborate.
