Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation
stone for various development projects of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in Gujarat,
worth ₹1500 crore. On this occasion, Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel and several other
dignitaries were present.
In his address, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation said that under the leadership of Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has achieved major accomplishments such as strong national
security, a robust economy, poverty alleviation, enhanced facilities for the poor, development of
infrastructure in villages and cities, establishing India as a global manufacturing hub, numerous
employment and business schemes for the youth, almost doubling the irrigation sector, doubling foodgrain
production, a threefold increase in procurement at MSP, and India’s rising stature on the world stage. He
said that as a result of all this, our civilization, culture, and Sanatan Dharma are today being recognized
and respected across the world. He added that the credit for this also goes to the leadership of Modi Ji.Calling to resolve to make the Commonwealth Games 2030 in Ahmedabad a grand success, Union Home
Minister Shri Amit Shah said that when Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, it was
Gujarat that first started “Khelo Gujarat” in the country. He said the objective of “Khelo Gujarat” was to
ensure that the youth stay away from addiction, lethargy and bad company, increase their participation in
sports, and move forward on the path of progress in life. He added that the journey that began with “Khelo
Gujarat” has now reached “Khelo India”, and today sports are being promoted in every state of the
country.
Shri Amit Shah said that numerous modern sports complexes have been developed in Ahmedabad city.
Excellent arrangements have been made for all international-level sports and coaching. In Ahmedabad, if
anyone wants to play, all facilities are now available within a five-kilometre radius of their home.Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation said that in his parliamentary constituency, earlier
there used to be only filth and darkness under bridges and over bridges, but now small and beautiful sports
complexes, libraries, yoga facilities, and open gyms have been created. He said that people from across
the country should come to Ahmedabad to learn how to make proper use of available space. Shri Shah said
that the world’s largest cricket stadium — the Narendra Modi Stadium — is in Motera, and right next to it,
work has begun on constructing the even more magnificent Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave.
Union Home Minister said that after comparing sports facilities, infrastructure, youth engagement in
sports, and accommodation arrangements in more than 70 countries, India was selected to host the
Commonwealth Games 2030.
Shri Amit Shah said that in 2029, the World Police & Fire Games will be held in Ahmedabad. He said, 13
international-level sporting events will be organized in the city. Shri Shah also said that there is a strong
possibility that Ahmedabad may be awarded the hosting rights for the 2036 Olympic Games. He stated
that Ahmedabad will hold a leading position on the world sports map. Shri Shah added that after the
Commonwealth and the Olympics, all these sports facilities, stadiums, coaching centres, and hostels will
not go to waste; instead, Ahmedabad will become the finest global training hub for every sport. In this
series of developments, the ground-breaking ceremonies for new sports complexes at three locations in
Ahmedabad were held today.
Union Home Minister said that under the development works worth ₹1,500 crore, projects worth ₹26
crore were inaugurated, works worth ₹30 crore were launched, and two housing project allotment draws
were conducted — making a total of 58 works carried out from a single platform.
He said that no dimension of development has been left untouched. Shri Shah also said that the journey
started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been carried forward with full speed and dedication by
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
Shri Amit Shah said that today, the world’s largest renewable energy park is being built in Gujarat. Asia’s
largest greenfield city is being developed in Dholera. India’s longest expressway, the ‘Surat–Chennai
Expressway,’ begins from Gujarat. India’s first international financial hub — GIFT City — is in our
Gujarat. The country’s first bullet train, the ‘Ahmedabad–Mumbai’ route, will start from Gujarat. The first
Namo Rapid Rail service from ‘Bhuj to Ahmedabad’ will also operate in Gujarat. He said that Gujarat isprogressing rapidly, day by day. Shri Shah added that the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra
Modi at the Centre, along with Shri Bhupendra Patel and Shri Harsh Sanghavi in Gujarat, has taken the
state to new heights.
Union Home Minister said that from the 2024 Lok Sabha elections until today, it has been a period of
continuous victories for our party. In the Lok Sabha elections, for the third consecutive time, our leader
Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country. He said that in the history of independent
India, after many decades, if any leader has set the record of becoming Prime Minister for the third
consecutive time, it is our esteemed leader Shri Narendra Modi. He said that in Maharashtra, Haryana,
Delhi, and Bihar as well, the opposition party was completely wiped out. In Bihar, our party and our
alliance formed the government with a two-thirds majority. He said that due to the welfare works for the
people, NDA governments are being formed in the states, while the opposition, distracted from public
issues, is busy blaming the EVMs and the voter lists. Shri Shah said that neither the EVM is faulty nor the
voter list is faulty. The truth is that the people of the country are not accepting the opposition party and
alliance partners of the opposition, and this is the real reason for their repeated defeats.
Shri Amit Shah said that after Bihar, the time is now coming for our party and our alliance in Bengal and
Tamil Nadu as well. He said that under Modi Ji’s leadership, development is taking place across the entire
country, every sector is progressing, and the people of the nation have accepted the resolve to make India
a great global power. Shri Shah said that the opposition alliance has neither a leader nor a policy — it is
merely an alliance filled with arrogance and ego. It is not receiving public acceptance in any corner of the
country. He said that once the results come, the opposition will be finished in Bengal and Tamil Nadu as
well.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation said that Prime Minister Modi performed the
groundbreaking ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in 2019, conducted the consecration ceremony
in 2024, and in 2025, by hoisting the saffron flag, completed the entire work with the proclamation of ‘Jai
Shri Ram.’ He said that a grand Ram Temple has been built in Ayodhya, and at the place where Mother
Sita was born, Shri Nitish Kumar and I performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the temple of Mother
Sita four months ago. He said that by 2026, the saffron flag will be hoisted there as well.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation said that today is Armed Forces Flag Day. This day is
meant to honor the brave soldiers of our Army, Navy, and Air Force who continuously safeguard the
country’s land, sea, and air borders. It is also a day to contribute towards their welfare after retirement. He
said that on this sacred occasion, he wholeheartedly bows in respect and pays heartfelt tribute to all the
soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice while protecting Mother India from the time of
independence till today.
Shri Amit Shah said that we are working with the resolve to make the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha
constituency the most developed region in the entire country. He said that the people of the Gandhinagar
Lok Sabha constituency must take a pledge that during the monsoon, every society should plant at least 5
and up to 50 trees so that the initiative of a ‘Green Gandhinagar Lok Sabha Constituency’ can begin. Shri
Shah said that tree plantation is extremely essential for our future generations. The only way to ensure
clean air, tolerable heat, the chirping of birds, and a stress-free environment is by planting trees. He said
that in the past five years, the green area in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency has increased by
13.6 per cent, but we should not be satisfied with this. We will ensure that each society plants 5 to 50 trees
and that the responsibility of watering them is entrusted to the youth.
