Scindia Addresses Gramin Dak Sevak Sammelan in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh Posted On: 24 FEB 2026 9:27PM by PIB Delhi The Department of Posts organised a grand Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Sammelan at the Kartik Mela Ground, Ujjain, in the distinguished presence of Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Communications and DoNER and Shri Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant occasion to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution of Gramin Dak Sevaks towards strengthening last-mile service delivery in rural India. More than 7,000 Gramin Dak Sevaks from across the State participated in the Sammelan. (Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia presenting a sapling to Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav; and a large gathering at the Gramin Dak Sevak Sammelan in Ujjain.) The Sammelan was organised to honour the dedication and services of Gramin Dak Sevaks, who play a pivotal role in strengthening communication, postal, banking and insurance services across rural and remote areas. Addressing the gathering, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia described the Gramin Dak Sevaks as members of his extended family and, invoking the Prime Minister’s mantra of Reform, Perform and Transform, called for ushering in a new wave of transformation in the Department of Posts. Highlighting the grassroots connect of Gramin Dak Sevaks, the Union Minister stated that a Gramin Dak Sevak knows every household and understands the pulse of the community. Scindia) During the Sammelan, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia felicitated 10 Gramin Dak Sevaks for their outstanding contribution and exemplary performance in strengthening last-mile postal and financial service delivery in rural areas.
