Ministry of Minority Affairs Union Minister of Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju administered Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge Posted On: 31 OCT 2025 4:59PM by PIB Delhi On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel 150th birth anniversary i.e. 31st October also celebrated as National Unity Day, Union Minister of Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju administered Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to the officials and staff of Ministry of Minority Affairs. Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju said that the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was iconic and unforgettable. He said that Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was epitome of national unity. Shri Rijiju said that with his indomitable spirit and relentless efforts, Sardar Patel integrated hundreds of remarkably diverse states to form the modern nation-state of India. Shri Rijiju also mentioned the national importance of Statue of Unity at Kevadia, Gujarat which stands as an ode to the most venerated leader i.e. Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Shri Rijiju said that people of India need to understand the contribution and feel pride of the struggles that our freedom fighters have gone through.
