Posted On: 17 SEP 2026 8:12PM by PIB Delhi Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav today interacted with school children in New Delhi on the occasion of Sewa Diwas, under the ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan – Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme. The event was graced by MLA (Mehrauli), Shri Gajender Yadav;

Secretary, MoEFCC, Shri Tanmay Kumar; Director General (Forest) and Special Secretary, MoEFCC, Shri Sushil Kumar Awasthi besides senior officers of the Ministry.

The event was organized by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to commemorate 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s selfless service to the people of the country. It sought to promote the spirit of Sewa Bhav (selfless service) among communities, particularly the younger generation, while fostering awareness about forests, wildlife, nature and environmental conservation. The programme brought together school students, teachers, eco-club members, government officials and local communities. As part of the programme, school children presented an environment- themed song.A large Rangoli incorporating Diyas was prepared to symbolise light of knowledge, hope, service and environmental responsibility being carried forward by the younger generation. The Minister also reviewed an exhibition of selected paintings by school children, depicting themes related to environment, forests, wildlife and nature.
