The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, announced in Rajya Sabha on February 11, 2026, that 31 teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts are sanctioned per EMRS (Eklavya Model Residential Schools) for EMRSs with classes up to 12th standard, having a full strength of 480 students. NESTS (National Education Society for Tribal Students) conducted its first drive for direct recruitment of 10391 posts through ESSE-2023, and selected teaching and non-teaching staff have been posted in various EMRSs. The notification for recruitment of 7267 teaching and non-teaching posts through ESSE – 2025 has also been issued. State Governments have been advised to depute staff. Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed in Rajya Sabha today that 31
teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts are sanctioned per EMRS for EMRSs with classes upto 12th
standard having a full strength of 480 students. NESTS carried out its first drive for direct recruitment of
10391 posts through ESSE-2023 and selected teaching and non-teaching staff have been posted in various
EMRSs.The notification for recruitment of 7267 teaching and non-teaching posts through ESSE – 2025
has also been issued. In addition to the direct recruitment, NESTS also has advised State Governments to
depute staff on deputation. Further, directions have been issued to State EMRS Societies to engage guest
teachers against vacancies, and non-teaching staff on outsourcing basis/local engagement, so that
academic activities are not hampered.
