Training Circular No. 24 of 2018, issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India, Mumbai, on 18.09.2018, addresses various services related to Maritime Training Institutes (MTIs).
The circular, referenced as Ref.: QMS 7.0 and No.TR/Cir/6(6)/2017, directs all DGS-approved MTIs to update their profiles in the DGS e-governance system by 30th September, 2018. This follows an earlier instruction (Training Circular No. 02 of 2018 dated 22.01.2018) for MTIs to update their profiles by 01st February, 2018.
The circular notes that many MTIs have not uploaded appropriate document details, faculty details, and course details, and some have uploaded illegible images. Course approvals for MTIs failing to fully update their profiles will be suspended from 1.10.2018 until compliance. These MTIs will be denied access to the e-governance module for entering batch details.
The circular was approved by the Director General of Shipping and the Secretary to the Govt. of India. The issuing authority is Asstt. Director General of Shipping, (Deependra Singh Bisen).
Copies of the circular are distributed to: All DGS approved MTIs, All MMDs, All SMs, INDOS Cell, NT Br, Engineering Br, Hindi Cell (for translation), Computer cell( for uploading in DGS website), E-Gov. Cell, Guard File, Sr. PS to DG.

Attention is invited to this office Training Circular No. 02 of 2018 dated
22.01.2018 wherein this Directorate has instructed all the DGS approved
maritime training institutes to update its profile in the e-governance syslem of
DGS latest by 01st February, 2018.
2. on examining the e-governance portal, it is observed that many
institutes have not uploaded appropriate document details, faculty details,
course details, some even have uploaded illegible images of authorized
signatory.

All the maritime training institutes are hereby directed to update their
profile latest by 3gttr September, 2018.

All the course approvals granted to maritime training institutes shall be
suspended from 1.10.2018 till compliance, if they fail to completely update
their MTI profile. Such MTIs shall not be allowed to access the e-governance
module for entering batch details.
