Ministry of Coal WCL Organises Community-Centric Activities under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 & Special Campaign 6 Promotes Cleanliness, Environmental Protection and Jan Bhagidari through Sports, Rangoli and ‘Waste to Wealth’ Awareness Activities

Posted On: 24 SEP 2026 2:34PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, 24 September 2026 Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) organised a series of community-centric activities across its Areas under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and Special Campaign 6. The initiatives aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental protection, responsible waste management and active community participation.

In Pathakhera Area, a friendly Kabaddi match was organised at Higher Secondary School, Chhatarpur. Four teams, including two male and two female teams, participated in the event.

Students, teachers and local community representatives participated enthusiastically. The sporting activity was combined with messages on cleanliness, teamwork and collective responsibility.

In Chandrapur Area, a ‘Waste to Wealth’ awareness programme was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chandrapur. Students were sensitised about waste segregation, recycling and the potential of converting waste materials into useful resources. The programme encouraged students to adopt responsible practices towards waste management.

Meanwhile, Pench Area organised Rangoli competitions in villages of Parasia Block. School-going children and community members participated enthusiastically in the competitions. Through colourful Rangolis, messages on cleanliness, sanitation, environmental protection and theimportance of maintaining a clean and plastic-free environment were effectively conveyed.

Through these community-centric initiatives, WCL reinforced the message that cleanliness is a shared responsibility. In line with the objectives of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and Special Campaign 6, WCL continues to promote Jan Bhagidari while creating greater awareness about cleanliness, environmental protection and sustainable waste management among communities.
