NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th April, 2016
G.S.R. 457 (E).— Whereas, a draft notification to rescind the Merchant Shipping (Pilot Ladder) Rules,
1967, which the Central Government proposes to issue, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause
(o) of the sub-section (2) of section 288 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958) read with section 21 of the
General Clauses Act, 1897 (10 of 1897), was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, sub-
section (i) vide G.S.R. 873 (E), dated the 17th November, 2015 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification), inviting
the objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within a period of thirty days from the date on
which copy of the said notification were made available to the public;
And whereas, copies of the said notification were made available to the public on 17th November 2015;
And whereas, no objections or suggestions have been received in response to the said notification within the
specified period of thirty days;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause (o) of sub-section (2) of
section 288 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958) read with section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (10
of 1897), the Central Government hereby rescinds the Merchant Shipping (Pilot Ladder) Rules, 1967, published in the
Gazette of India, Part II, section 3, sub-section (i) vide notification number G.S.R 1650, dated the 21st October, 1967,
except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such recession.
