NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 21st December, 2018
S.O. 6265 (E).—Whereas, a sum of Rs 12,81,42,090 (Rupees twelve crore eighty one lakh forty two thousand
and ninety only) as on the 31st March, 2018 is payable by the Khadi Ashram, G.T. Road, Panipat (hereinafter referred to
as the said society) to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission.
And whereas, a notice was served to the said society under sub-rule (1) of rule 29 of the Khadi and Village
Industries Commission Rules, 2006, dated the 23rd April, 2018 directing it to pay the sum due to the Commission within
thirty days from the receipt of the notice failing which the Commission shall proceed to recover the same as arrears of
land revenue;
And whereas, the said society has disputed its liability to pay the sum of Rs. 12,81,42,090/-, which is due to
the Commission.
Now, therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 B of the Khadi and Village Industries
Commission Act, 1956 (61 of 1956) read with sub-rule (2) of rule 30 of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission,
Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby constitutes a Tribunal consisting of one person, namely, Shri L. Haokip,
Director, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, UdyogBhawan, New Delhi – 110011, to decide the question
on the payment of dues by the said society to the Commission.
The Tribunal shall submit its report to the Central Government within three months from the date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
The headquarters of the said Tribunal shall be at New Delhi.
