NOTIFICATION
Kolkata, the 16th June, 2016
S.O. 2212(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways number
S.O. 10(E), dated the 21st December, 2015, issued under sub-section(1) of section 7 of the Metro Railways (Construction
of Works) Act, 1978 (33 of 1978), published in Part– II, Section 3, sub-section (ii) of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
dated the 2nd January, 2016, the Central Government gave notice of its intension to acquire lands, buildings, streets,
roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein, specified in the Schedule appended to the said notification, for
the purpose of construction of Metro Railway from Joka Maintenance Depot to Joka Station and other works connected
therewith in the metropolitan City of Kolkata;¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(ii)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3
And whereas no objection case under section 9 of the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 has
been filed within 21 days of the publication of notification under sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Metro Railways
(Construction of Works) Act, 1978 as reported by the Competent Authority.
And whereas the Central Government, on the report of the Competent Authority is satisfied that the lands,
buildings, streets, roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein, specified in the Schedule appended to the said
notification, are required for the above said purpose;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Metro Railways
(Construction of Works) Act, 1978, the Central Government do hereby acquires the lands, buildings, streets, roads,
passages or the right of users or easement therein, specified in the Schedule appended to the said notification;
The plan of the areas, specified in the Schedule which are required, is available for inspection in the office of the
Competent Authority, Metro Railways, at 39/1, Rash Bihari Avenue, (1st Floor), Kolkata – 700026.
