S.O. 344(E).—(cid:32) Whereas, in exercise of the power conferred by clause 10(1)(p) of Bureau of Indian Standard
Act,1986 (63 of 1986) and in pursuance of clause (fa) of the rule 13 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 1987, the
Central Government had included fifteen products to the Schedule of “Electronics and Information Technology Goods
(Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” (hereinafter called the Order) (cid:118)(cid:100)(cid:105)(cid:101) S.O. 2905(E) published in
Gazette of India on 13 Nov 2014, and (cid:118)(cid:100)(cid:105)(cid:101) S.O. 2578(E) published in the Gazette of India on 21 Sept 2015 the date of
coming into effect of this Order for the select items was extended till 1st Dec 2015. And whereas, the industry has sought
more time for compliance to the Order And whereas the issues involved have been discussed with the stakeholders for
smooth implementation of this Order, it is hereby notified that the date of implementation of the Order stands extended to
the dates indicated against the select products as mentioned below:

SUBJECT: Concerning Amendment of “Electronics and IT Goods (Requirements for
Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012”.
S.O. 345(E).—In exercise of the power conferred by clause 10(1)(p) of Bureau of Indian Standard
Act,1986 (63 of 1986) and in pursuance of clause (fa) of the rule 13 of the Bureau of Indian
Standards Rules, 1987, the Central Government, hereby makes the following amendments to the
“Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order,
2012”, namely-
In the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration)
Order, 2012,-
After Para 3 A, the following paragraph shall be inserted, namely:-
“3 B. Deferred Application of Order”-
For manufacturers that are already registered under this Order, the application of the order shall be
deferred by six months for goods manufactured at any new location within the territory of India
provided:
a) That the new manufacturing location is within the responsibility of the same manufacturer
b) That the specific type/model numbers of the goods manufactured at this new location are already
covered in the scope of registration of the same manufacturer for its manufacturing unit, at any other
location.
During the interim period such product/products will continue to support the registration
number granted to this manufacturer earlier for any other manufacturing location.
This Notification will come into force with immediate effect.
