NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 21st February 2018
Subject : Concerning implementation of “Electronics and Information Technology Goods
(Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” for products included in the
schedule S.O. 2742(E) published in Gazette of India on 23 August 2017
S.O. 1025(E).—Whereas, in exercise of the power conferred by clause 10(1)(p) of the Bureau of
Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986) and in pursuance of clause (fa) of the Rule 13 of the Bureau of Indian
Standards Rules, 1987 the Central Government, had included thirteen electronics and information technology
products to the Schedule of the “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for
Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” vide S.O. 2742(E) published in Gazette of India on 23 August 2017.
The date of coming into effect of this Order was 23 February 2018. And, whereas, the issues involved have
been discussed with the stakeholders for smooth implementation of the Order and whereas, the industry has
sought more time for compliance of the Order, it is hereby notified that the date of implementation of the
Order stands extended to 23 May 2018.
Note : The Principal Order was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary vide S.O number 2357(E),
dated 3rd October, 2012 and subsequently amended vide S.O. 2034(E) dated 5th July, 2013,
S.O. 3022(E) dated 4th October, 2013, S.O. 2905(E) dated 13th November, 2014, S.O. 345(E) dated
