NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 26th March, 2021
S.R.O. 5(E).—Whereas in pursuance of sub rule (3) of rule 5 of the Cantonment Electoral Rules, 2007, the
Central Government notified the wards reserved for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes in respect of 50
Cantonments published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 4 vide following notifications namely:-
(i) S.R.O. 04(E) dated 30th September, 2014;
(ii) S.R.O. 07(E) dated 17th October, 2014;
(iii) S.R.O. 04(E) dated 05th March, 2015;
And whereas, in terms of sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the said rules, such notification in respect of reservation of
wards for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes is effective for complete five years or till the next ordinary
election, whichever is later, irrespective of election to fill any casual vacancy;
And whereas, the said period five years from the date of previous notification has already been completed;
And whereas, the Cantonment Boards listed in the Table below have sent proposals for notifying wards for
the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes after following the procedures as specified in the said rules.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the said rules, the Central
Government hereby notifies the wards in respect of Cantonments listed in the Table below, reserved for the Scheduled
Castes or the Scheduled Tribes, as the case may be, which will be effective for five years from the date of this
notification namely:-

Rules, 2007, the Central Government notified the wards reserved for women in respect of 62 Cantonment vide
following notifications:-
(i) S.R.O. 05(E) dated 16th October, 2014;
(ii) S.R.O. 06(E) dated 16th October, 2014;
(iii) S.R.O. 08(E) dated 03rd November, 2014;
(iv) S.R.O. 03(E) dated 05th March, 2015;
whereas in terms of sub-rule (d) of rule 6 of the said rules, the seats reserved shall be effective for complete
five years or till the next ordinary election, whichever is later, irrespective of election to fill any casual vacancy; and
whereas the period of five years from the previous notification is already completed; and
whereas the Cantonment Boards listed in the table below have sent proposals for notifying wards for women
after following the due process;
therefore, the Central Government hereby notifies the wards in respect of Cantonments listed in the Table
below, reserved for women (including the number of seats reserved for women belonging to the Scheduled Castes and
the Scheduled Tribes), which will be effective from the date of this notification namely:-
