New Delhi, the 14th January, 2016
S.O. 121(E).—Whereas it appears to the Central Government that coal is likely to be obtained from
the lands in the locality described in the Schedule annexed hereto;
And whereas, the plan bearing number NCL/HQ/ Revenue/2015/69, dated the 9th November, 2015
containing the details of the areas of land described in the said Schedule may be inspected at the office of the
General Manager (Revenue/ Rehabilitation and Resettlement), Northern Coalfields Limited, Singrauli-
486889, Madhya Pradesh or at the Office of the Chief General Manager (Exploration Division), Central
Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited, Gondwana Place, Kanke Road, Ranchi-834001, Jharkhand or
at the Office of the Coal Controller, 1, Council House Street, Kolkata-700001 or at the Office of the District
Collector, Singrauli-486 889, Madhya Pradesh;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 4 of the Coal
Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), (hereinafter referred to as the said
Act), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its intention to prospect for coal from the lands
described in the said Schedule;
Any person interested in the land described in the said Schedule may –
(i)(cid:32) claim compensation under section 6 of the said Act for any damage caused or likely to be caused by
any action taken under sub-section (3) of section 4 of the said Act; or
(ii)(cid:32) claim compensation under sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act in respect of prospecting
licenses ceasing to have effect or under sub-section (4) of section 13 of the said Act for mining
lease ceasing to have effect and deliver all maps, charts and other documents relating to the
aforesaid lands to show the expenditure incurred in respect of items specified in clauses (i) to
(iv) of sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act,
to the office of the General Manager (Revenue/ Rehabilitation and Resettlement), Northern Coalfields
Limited, Singrauli- 486889, Madhya Pradesh, within a period of ninety days from the date of the publication
of this notification in the Official Gazette.
