Maharashtra Municipal corporations act, 1949.
No. MRD-3324/CR. 57/UD-7.— In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of proviso to
sub-section (1) of section 149B of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act (LIX of 1949) (herein
after referred to as “ the said Act ”), and in supersession of the Government Notification, Urban
Development Department, No. MRD-3324/CR.57/UD-7, dated 11th December, 2024 the Government
of Maharashtra hereby reduces the stamp duty leviable under Maharashtra Stamp Act (LX of 1958)
increased by surcharge as otherwise chargeable under section 149B of the said Act to rupees one
hundred, on the instruments to be executed by the Thane Municipal Corporation in favor of the
eligible tenants of Basic Services for Urban Poor (BSUP) and Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban
Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme in the area of the Thane Municipal Corporation in respect of
residential units for their rehabilitation.
