S T A T U T O R Y I N S T R U M E N T S 2025 No. 540 CIVIL AVIATION The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Royal Air Force Odiham) Regulations 2025 Made - - - - 30th April 2025 Coming into force - - 25th July 2025 The Secretary of State has decided that it is necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in the area specified in regulation 3(1) by reason of the intended holding there of a flying display.

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(a).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Royal Air Force Odiham) Regulations 2025 and they come into force on 25th July 2025.

Interpretation

2. In regulation 3(1) the times referred to are Co-ordinated Universal Time(b).

Restricted airspace

3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), beginning at 1200 hours and ending at 1715 hours on 25th July 2025 no aircraft is to fly below 4,000 feet above mean sea level within the area bounded by a circle having a radius of 3 nautical miles centred at 511405N 0005657W.

(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to any aircraft—

(a) operating in accordance with a clearance issued by the—

(i) air traffic control unit at Royal Air Force Odiham,

(ii) air traffic control unit at Farnborough Airport, or

(iii) Royal Air Force Odiham air show flying display director, or

(b) operated by or on behalf of—

(i) a Police Air Support Unit,

(ii) an Emergency Medical Service, or

(iii) the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

(b) Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) is one hour behind British Sumer Time (BST).Signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport David J Best Grade 7 30th April 2025 Department for Transport EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations impose restrictions on flying in the vicinity of Royal Air Force Odiham, Hampshire during a flying display that is due to take place there on 25th July 2025.

A large number of aircraft will be involved in high energy manoeuvres during the displays and therefore the Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport agree that flying should be restricted in the vicinity of the display for reasons of public safety.

The times mentioned in regulation 3(1) are Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) which is one hour behind British Summer Time (BST).

In relation to the permissions mentioned in regulation 3(2)(a), the air traffic control units at Royal Air Force Odiham and Farnborough Airport, and the Royal Air Force Odiham air show flying display director may be contacted as notified.
