STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2026 No. 852 (C. 73) HEALTH CARE AND ASSOCIATED PROFESSIONS The Health and Social Care Act 2012 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2026 Made - - - - 15th July 2026 The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 306 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012(1). Citation 1. This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Care Act 2012 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2026. Commencement of provision 2. The day appointed for the coming into force(2) of section 208 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012, in so far as it is not already in force, is the 1st October 2026. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into force section 208 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 (c. 7) (“the Act”) in so far as it is not already in force. It is the twelfth such Order to be made under the Act. Section 208 of the Act amends the National Health Service Act 2006 (“the 2006 Act”), so as to make provision for the NHS Commissioning Board, now NHS England, to establish lists of Local Pharmaceutical Service performers and those who assist pharmaceutical contractors in the provision of pharmaceutical services. A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as this Order itself has no impact on the private sector or civil society organisations.
