**Summary:**
EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 107/2019, adopted on May 8, 2019, amends Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement. DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 107/2019
of 8 May 2019
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2022/2006]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98
thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/998 of 12 July 2018amending Annex I to Decision 2009/177/EC
as regards the status of Croatia for koi herpes virus (KHV) disease, of Finland for infectious haematopoietic necrosis
(IHN), the list of areas in Ireland free of Bonamia ostreae, the list of areas in the United Kingdom free of Marteilia
refringens and amending Annex I to Decision 2010/221/EU as regards the list of areas in the United Kingdom free of
Ostreid herpesvirus 1 μvar (OsHV-1 μVar)(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Decision 2006/80/EC(2), which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement, was repealed by Commission
Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1669(3)and is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.
(3) This Decision concerns legislation regarding veterinary matters. Legislation regarding veterinary matters shall not
apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss
Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations
to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.
(4) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Chapter I of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:
(1) The following indent is added in points 89 (Commission Decision 2009/177/EC) and 94 (Commission Decision
2010/221/EU) in Part 4.2:
‘— 32018 D 0998: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/998 of 12 July 2018 (OJ L 178, 16.7.2018,
p. 9).’

Article 2
The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/998 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA
Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 1 June 2019, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA
Agreement have been made*.
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European
Union.
