**Policy Summary**
This decision, EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 129/2019 of 8 May 2019, amends Annex XVIII (Health and Safety at Work, Labour Law, and Equal Treatment for Men and Women) to the EEA Agreement. The amendment incorporates Directive (EU) 2017/2398 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 December 2017, which modifies Directive 2004/37/EC concerning the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens or mutagens at work, into the EEA Agreement. Specifically, it adds the following indent to point 14a (Directive 2004/37/EC) of Annex XVIII: "32017 L 2398: Directive (EU) 2017/2398 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 December 2017 (OJ L 345, 27.12.2017, p. 87)." The authentic texts of Directive (EU) 2017/2398 in Icelandic and Norwegian will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. The decision entered into force on 1 June 2019, following the completion of all notifications required under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement. The decision was published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
