Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/1562 27.6.2024 DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 13/2024 of 2 February 2024 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2024/1562] THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/731 of 3 April 2023 concerning a coordinated multiannual control programme of the Union for 2024, 2025 and 2026 to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides and to assess the consumer exposure to pesticide residues in and on food of plant and animal origin and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/741(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. (2) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/731 repeals, with effect from 1 September 2024, Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/741(2), which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement with effect from 1 September 2024. (3) This Decision concerns legislation regarding foodstuffs. Legislation regarding foodstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the introduction to Chapter XII of Annex II to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein. (4) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 Chapter XII of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows: 1. The following is inserted after point 240 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/972): ‘241. 32023 R 0731: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/731 of 3 April 2023 concerning a coordinated multiannual control programme of the Union for 2024, 2025 and 2026 to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides and to assess the consumer exposure to pesticide residues in and on food of plant and animal origin and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/741 (OJ L 95, 4.4.2023, p. 28). The provisions of the Regulation shall, for the purposes of this Agreement, be read with the following adaptations: The following shall be added to the table in point (5) of Annex II: IS 12 NO 12’ 2.
