Decision No 139/2025 of the EEA Joint Committee, dated 13 June 2025, amends Annex XI (Electronic communication, audiovisual services and information society) to the EEA Agreement [2025/1833].
The decision incorporates Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1983 of 18 July 2024 regarding the harmonisation of the 40,5-43,5 GHz frequency band for terrestrial systems capable of providing wireless broadband electronic communications services in the Union into the EEA Agreement. This is reflected by inserting point '5czv. 32024 D 1983' after point 5czu in Annex XI. The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1983 in Icelandic and Norwegian languages will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union.
The Decision enters into force on 14 June 2025, contingent upon all notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement being made. It shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.

EEA Agreement [2025/1833]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98
thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1983 of 18 July 2024 on the harmonisation of the 40,5-43,5 GHz
frequency band for terrestrial systems capable of providing wireless broadband electronic communications services
in the Union(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Annex XI to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The following point is inserted after point 5czu (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1730) of Annex XI to the
EEA Agreement:
‘5czv. 32024 D 1983: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1983 of 18 July 2024 on the harmonisation of
the 40,5-43,5 GHz frequency band for terrestrial systems capable of providing wireless broadband electronic
communications services in the Union (OJ L, 2024/1983, 22.7.2024).’
Article 2
The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/1983 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA
Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 14 June 2025, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA
Agreement have been made(*).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European
Union.
