DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 191/2021
of 9 July 2021
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2024/322]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98
thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2116 of 16 December 2020 concerning the renewal of the
authorisation of L-histidine monohydrochloride monohydrate produced by Escherichia coli ATCC 9637 as a feed
additive for salmonids and its extension of use to other finfish, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 244/2007(1)is to
be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2117 of 16 December 2020 concerning the renewal of the
authorisation of selenomethionine produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-3399 with the new name ‘selenised
yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-3399’ as a feed additive for all animal species, and repealing Regulation (EC)
No 900/2009(2)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(3) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2118 of 16 December 2020 concerning the renewal of the
authorisation of Pediococcus pentosaceus DSM 16244 as a feed additive for all animal species and repealing Regulation
(EU) No 514/2010(3)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(4) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2119 of 16 December 2020 concerning the renewal of the
authorisation of the preparation of citric acid, sorbic acid, thymol and vanillin as a feed additive for all porcine
species (weaned), chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying, all minor avian species for fattening and all
minor avian species reared for laying and repealing Regulations (EU) No 1117/2010 and (EU) No 849/2012 (holder
of authorisation Vetagro SpA)(4)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(5) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2120 of 16 December 2020amending Implementing Regulation
(EU) 2016/1964 as regards the authorisation of a preparation of montmorillonite-illite as feed additive for all animal
species(5)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(6) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2121 of 16 December 2020 concerning the authorisation of a
preparation of 6-phytase produced by Komagataella phaffii DSM 32854 as a feed additive for all poultry species,
ornamental birds, piglets, pigs for fattening, sows and minor porcine species for fattening or reproduction
(holder of authorisation: Huvepharma EOOD)(6)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(7) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2116 repeals Commission Regulation (EC) No 244/2007(7) which is
incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.
(8) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2117 repeals Commission Regulation (EC) No 900/2009(8) which is
incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(9) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2118 repeals Commission Regulation (EU) No 514/2010(9) which is
incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.
(10) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2119 repeals Commission Regulation (EU) No 1117/2010(10) and
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 849/2012(11)which are incorporated into the EEA Agreement and
which are consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.
(11) This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to
Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss
Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations
to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.
(12) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:
1. The following is added in point 177 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1964):
‘, as amended by:
— 32020 R 2120: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2120 of 16 December 2020 (OJ L 426,
17.12.2020, p. 22).’
2. The following points are inserted after point 386 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1800):
‘387. 32020 R 2116: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2116 of 16 December 2020concerning the
renewal of the authorisation of L-histidine monohydrochloride monohydrate produced by Escherichia coli ATCC
9637 as a feed additive for salmonids and its extension of use to other finfish, and repealing Regulation (EC)
No 244/2007 (OJ L 426, 17.12.2020, p. 7).
388. 32020 R 2117: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2117 of 16 December 2020concerning the
renewal of the authorisation of selenomethionine produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-3399 with the

repealing Regulation (EU) No 514/2010 (OJ L 426, 17.12.2020, p. 15).
390. 32020 R 2119: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2119 of 16 December 2020concerning the

3. The texts of points 1zzzo (Commission Regulation (EC) No 244/2007), 1zzzzzl (Commission Regulation (EC)
No 900/2009), 2f (Commission Regulation (EU) No 514/2010), 2p (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1117/2010)
and 65 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 849/2012) are deleted.
Article 2
The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2020/2116, (EU) 2020/2117, (EU) 2020/2118, (EU) 2020/2119,
(EU) 2020/2120 and (EU) 2020/2121 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement
to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 10 July 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA
Agreement have been made*.
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European
Union.
