Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/304 8.2.2024 DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 209/2021 of 9 July 2021 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2024/304] THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Commission Directive (EU) 2019/1922 of 18 November 2019 amending, for the purposes of adaptation to technical and scientific developments, point 13 of part III of Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the safety of toys, as regards aluminium(1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. (2) Commission Directive (EU) 2019/1929 of 19 November 2019 amending Appendix C to Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council for the purpose of adopting specific limit values for chemicals used in certain toys, as regards formaldehyde(2)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. (3) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 The following indents are added in point 1a (Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XXIII of Annex II to the EEA Agreement: ‘- 32019 L 1922: Commission Directive (EU) 2019/1922 of 18 November 2019(OJ L 298, 19.11.2019, p. 5), - 32019 L 1929: Commission Directive (EU) 2019/1929 of 19 November 2019(OJ L 299, 20.11.2019, p. 51).’ Article 2 The texts of Directives (EU) 2019/1922 and (EU) 2019/1929 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 10 July 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made*.
