Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/280 8.2.2024 DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 220/2021 of 9 July 2021 amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/280] THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Commission Delegated Decision (EU) 2020/1071 of 18 May 2020amending Directive 2003/87/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, as regards the exclusion of incoming flights from Switzerland from the EU emissions trading system(1)is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. (2) Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 Point 21al (Directive 2003/87/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Annex XX to the EEA Agreement is amended as follows: 1. The following indent is added: ‘- 32020 D 1071: Commission Delegated Decision (EU) 2020/1071 of 18 May 2020(OJ L 234, 21.7.2020, p. 16).’ 2. Adaptation (u) is renumbered as adaptation (v). 3. The following adaptation is inserted after adaptation (t): ‘(u) In the second paragraph of the entry ‘Aviation’ of column ‘Activities’ of the table in Annex I, the second paragraph of point (j), points (k) and (l) shall apply from 1 January 2020.’ Article 2 The text of Delegated Decision (EU) 2020/1071 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 10 July 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made*. Article 4 This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
