Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 227/2022 of 8 July 2022 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2023/644]
**Policy Summary: EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 227/2022**
This decision, adopted by the EEA Joint Committee on July 8, 2022, amends Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The amendment incorporates Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1157 into the EEA Agreement, replacing Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1158.
Regulation (EU) 2022/1157, published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ L 180, 6.7.2022, p. 1), lays down rules for the application of Directive 2014/90/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council regarding design, construction, performance requirements, and testing standards for marine equipment. It also repeals Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1158 (OJ L 254, 16.7.2021, p. 1).
This decision entered into force on July 9, 2022, following the completion of notifications required under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement. The authentic Icelandic and Norwegian language texts of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1157 will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. The decision itself will be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
