## Summary of EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 293/2022 This decision, adopted by the EEA Joint Committee on December 9, 2022, amends Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) and Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement. The amendment incorporates Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/566 into the EEA Agreement, specifically addressing maximum residue levels (MRLs) for flutianil in or on certain products. Article 1 adds an indent to point 40 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 within Chapter II of Annex I, referencing Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/566 (OJ L 109, 8.4.2022, p. 35). Article 2 similarly adds an indent to point 54zzy of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 within Chapter XII of Annex II, also referencing Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/566 (OJ L 109, 8.4.2022, p. 35). Article 3 stipulates that the Icelandic and Norwegian language texts of Regulation (EU) 2022/566, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, will be authentic. Notably, this Decision does not apply to Liechtenstein, contingent upon the extension of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products to Liechtenstein, as detailed in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I and the introduction to Chapter XII of Annex II to the EEA Agreement. The Decision entered into force on December 10, 2022, conditional upon the completion of all notifications required under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement. The Decision will be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union. The President of the EEA Joint Committee at the time of adoption was Kristjn Andri Stefansson.
