Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 294/2022 of 9 December 2022 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2023/1236]
**Policy Summary:**
EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 294/2022, adopted on December 9, 2022, amends Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The decision incorporates Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/474 of January 17, 2022, into the EEA Agreement. This regulation amends Annex II to Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council, addressing specific requirements for the production and use of non-organic, in-conversion, and organic seedlings and other plant reproductive material.
This decision does not apply to Liechtenstein, due to the extension of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products to Liechtenstein.
Article 1 of the decision adds the following indent to point 54b (Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XII of Annex II to the EEA Agreement: "32022 R 0474: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/474 of 17 January 2022 (OJ L 98, 25.3.2022, p. 1)."
The authentic texts of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/474 in Icelandic and Norwegian languages will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union.
The decision entered into force on December 10, 2022, following the completion of notifications required under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement.
The decision was published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
