Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 316/2022 of 9 December 2022 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2023/1258]
**Policy Summary:**
EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 316/2022, dated 9 December 2022, amends Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement. The decision incorporates Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/677 into the EEA Agreement, which establishes rules for applying Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 regarding the glossary of common ingredient names used in cosmetic product labeling. This incorporation also leads to the repeal of Commission Decision (EU) 2019/701, which is already part of the EEA Agreement. Article 1 replaces point 13a of Chapter XVI of Annex II to the EEA Agreement with the reference to Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/677 (OJ L 127, 29.4.2022, p. 1). The authentic Icelandic and Norwegian language texts of Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/677 will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. The decision went into effect on 10 December 2022, contingent upon the completion of all notifications required under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement. The decision was published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
