amending Annex XI (Electronic communication, audiovisual services and information society) to the
EEA Agreement [2024/1525]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98
thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/444 of 16 December 2022supplementing Directive (EU) 2018/1972
of the European Parliament and of the Council with measures to ensure effective access to emergency services
through emergency communications to the single European emergency number ‘112’(1), as corrected by OJ L 68,
6.3.2023, p. 182, is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/468 of 25 November 2022 amending Decision 2007/116/EC as
regards the introduction of an additional reserved number beginning with 116(2)is to be incorporated into the EEA
Agreement.
(3) Annex XI to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex XI to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:
1. The following indent is added in point 5cx (Commission Decision 2007/116/EC):
‘— 32023 D 0468: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/468 of 25 November 2022 (OJ L 68,
6.3.2023, p. 96).’
2. The following point is inserted after point 5czsc (Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/654):
‘5czsd. 32023 R 0444: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/444 of 16 December 2022 supplementing
Directive (EU) 2018/1972 of the European Parliament and of the Council with measures to ensure effective
access to emergency services through emergency communications to the single European emergency
number ‘112’ (OJ L 65, 2.3.2023, p. 1), as corrected by OJ L 68, 6.3.2023, p. 182.’
Article 2
The texts of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/444, as corrected by OJ L 68, 6.3.2023, p. 182, and Implementing Decision
(EU) 2023/468 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of
the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 3 February 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA
Agreement have been made(*), or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 275/2021
of 24 September 2021(3), whichever is later.
