Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Summary:** EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 69/2020, dated 12 June 2020, amends Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement. The decision incorporates Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1869 of 7 November 2019 into the EEA Agreement, which pertains to the amendment and correction of Annex I to Directive 2002/32/EC regarding maximum levels for certain undesirable substances in animal feed. This legislation regarding feedingstuffs will not apply to Liechtenstein, contingent upon the extension of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. The amendment adds the following indent to point 33 (Directive 2002/32/EC) of Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement: "32019 R 1869: Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1869 of 7 November 2019 (OJ L 289, 8.11.2019, p. 32)." The Icelandic and Norwegian language versions of Regulation (EU) 2019/1869 will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union and are considered authentic. The decision entered into force on 13 June 2020, following the completion of all notifications required under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement. The decision was published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
