Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Summary:** EEA Joint Committee Decision No. 90/2022, dated April 29, 2022, amends Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement. The decision incorporates two key pieces of EU legislation into the EEA Agreement: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1703, which amends Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/692 regarding animal health requirements for the entry of products of animal origin in composite products into the Union; and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1064, which amends Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/520 concerning the configuration of the animal identification code for traceability of certain kept terrestrial animals for the United Kingdom in respect of Northern Ireland. This decision does not apply to Liechtenstein, given the extension of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products to Liechtenstein. The authentic Icelandic and Norwegian language texts of the incorporated regulations will be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. This Decision entered into force on April 30, 2022, following the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement. The decision was published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
