L 136/104 EN Official Journal of the European Union 13.5.2022 DECISIONS POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DECISION (CFSP) 2022/734 of 10 May 2022 extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo*(EULEX KOSOVO) (EULEX KOSOVO/1/2022) THE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38, third paragraph, thereof, Having regard to Council Joint Action 2008/124/CFSP of 4 February 2008on the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX KOSOVO)(1), and in particular Article 12(2) thereof, Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Whereas: (1) Pursuant to Article 12(2) of Joint Action 2008/124/CFSP, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised, in accordance with Article 38 of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising the political control and strategic direction of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX KOSOVO), including the decision to appoint a Head of Mission. (2) On 28 November 2019, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/1991(2), appointing Mr Lars-Gunnar WIGEMARK as Head of Mission of EULEX KOSOVO for the period from 1 December 2019to 14 June 2020. (3) On 3 June 2021, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2021/904(3), amending Joint Action 2008/124/CFSP and extending the mandate of EULEX KOSOVO until 14 June 2023. (4) On 10 June 2021, the PSC adopted Decision (CFSP) 2021/959(4), extending the mandate of Mr Lars-Gunnar WIGEMARK as Head of Mission EULEX KOSOVO until 14 June 2022.
