L 23/18 EN Official Journal of the European Union 25.1.2023 DECISIONS POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DECISION (CFSP) 2023/164 of 24 January 2023 on the appointment of the Head of Mission of the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) (EUMA/1/2023) THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 38 thereof, Having regard to the Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/162 of 23 January 2023 on a European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA)(1), and in particular Article 8 thereof, Whereas: (1) By means of Decision (CFSP) 2023/162, the Council authorised the Political and Security Committee, in accordance with Article 38 of the Treaty on European Union, to take the relevant decisions concerning the political control and strategic direction of EUMA, including the decisions on the appointment of the Head of Mission. (2) The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy proposed that Mr. Markus RITTER be appointed as Head of Mission. (3) A decision on the appointment of the Head of Mission should be taken, HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 Mr. Markus RITTER is hereby appointed as Head of Mission of the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) from 24 January 2023to 20 February 2024.
