NOTIFICATION Whereas the Notification to extend the boundary of Town Municipal Council Area of Madhugiri of Tumkur District by including some adjacent Survey Numbered areas as mentioned in Schedule-A along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B was published as required by section-3 read with section-4, 9, 349, 355, 357 and 359 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, vide Government Notification No:UDD 167 MLR 2024, dated 18/02/2025 by providing thirty days time and was published in part-III, No.110, Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated 18/02/2025 inviting objections from all persons likely to be affected thereby on or before thirty days from the date of publication of the above Notification. And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication; And whereas the objection/suggestion received within the stipulated period has been taken for consideration; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3, 4, 9, 349, 355, 357 and 359 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the Hon’ble Governor, hereby extend the boundary of Town Municipal Council Area of Madhugiri, Tumkur District by including the adjacent Survey Numbered Areas as mentioned in Schedule–A, along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule–B, as the “Smaller Urban Area” and further specifying such area to be the “Town Municipal Council Area of Madhugiri” having regards to: a) Such area contains a population of not less than twenty thousand but less than fifty thousand; b) The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred inhabitants to one square kilometer of area; c) The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine lakh per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty- five per capita per annum, whichever is higher;5 d) The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty percent of the total employment.
