Mumbai: 22 September 2026 ECGC, the export credit insurance entity of the Government of India, organised its 68th Annual General Meeting on September 21, 2026 in Mumbai for the FY 2025- 26, which was attended by all its shareholders. The key business highlights for the FY 2025-26 are – value of exports supported stood at ₹9.70 lakh crore, which is an all-time high achievement, thereby recording a growth of 13.46%, covering 25% of India’s merchandise exports, achievement of highest gross premium ever to the extent of ₹1,459.11 crore with a growth of 6.77%, payment of claims for ₹811.02 crore as compared to ₹453.49 crore during the previous year, registering a robust growth of 79%.
During the FY 2025-26, the Company registered Profit Before Tax (PBT) of ₹1,686.61 crore as against ₹2,723.07 crore in the previous FY and Profit After Tax
(PAT) of ₹1,277.12 crore. The Company declared a dividend of ₹390.42 crore for the FY 2025-26 at its Annual General Meeting.
Amidst ongoing West Asia crisis and tariff war, the Company has taken a slew of measures to support Indian exporters. Enhanced cover of 90% has been extended to Banks under Whole Turnover Export Credit Insurance for Banks (WT-ECIB) for small exporters with no additional cost for export credit limits up to ₹50 crore, cover to banks for collateral-free export credit up to ₹10 crore, simplified claim procedure with minimal documentation under WT-ECIB for settling claims up to ₹10 crore, upgradation of country risk ratings for 24 nations across Latin America, Africa and East Asia to help exporters diversify their markets by reducing insurance cost, risk rating retention of countries involved in West Asia crisis, extension of credit period up to 450 days for pre-shipment and post-shipment export credit disbursed up to 31/03/2026 for banks under ECIB in line with the RBI Trade Relief Measures and introduction of Export Factoring Facility in Foreign Currency (EFF-FC) from its IFSC Insurance Office (IIO), GIFT City, to boost exports by providing Indian exporters immediate cash realisation against their export receivables ensuring liquidity and credit risk protection.
ECGC has also been designated as the nodal agency for reimbursement of additional freight and insurance charges for exporters (policyholders and non-policyholders) under the Resilience and Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF)intervention launched by Ministry of Commerce & Industry under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM), with a budgetary outlay of ₹497 crore w.e.f. March 19,
2026.
