NOTIFICATION
Whereas the Notification to declare the City Municipal Area of Hassan as a ‘Larger
Urban Area’ and further to specify such Area as ‘The Corporation of the City of Hassan' was
published as required by section-3, 4, 500, 501 and 503 of the Karnataka Municipal
Corporations Act 1976 vide Government Notification No:UDD 307 MLR 2024; dated
21/01/2025 by providing thirty days time and was published in Part-III, No.48, Karnataka
Gazette Extraordinary dated 21/02/2025 inviting objections/suggestions from all the persons
likely to be affected thereby on or before thirty days from the date of publication of the above
Notification.
And whereas the Notification was made available to the public on the day of publication;
And whereas objections received within the stipulated period have been considered;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3, 4, 500, 501 and 503
of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act 1976 the Hon’ble Governor, hereby notify the
City Municipal Area of Hassan as a “Larger Urban Area” and further specifying such area to
be ‘The Corporation of the City of Hassan’ as mentioned in Schedule–A, along with the
boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B, for the purpose of administration having regard regards
to:
i. The population of such area is not less than three lakhs;
ii. The density of population in such area is not less than three thousand
inhabitants to one square kilometer of area;
iii. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and
non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees
six crores per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees two hundred
per capita per annum, whichever is higher;
iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than
fifty per cent of the total employment.

SCHEDULE-B
The proposed Hassan City Municipal Corporation boundary begins at the Hassan Belur State
Highway, where the boundaries of Uddur Handinakere, Huvinahalli and Koralli villages meet
and from there, it heads eastwards along the boundary of Uddur village, passing along the
edges of Uddur village (including the full revenue village) Survey Numbers 24, 25 and other
village boundaries and reaches the northern point of Tamlapura Survey No.69. From there, it
continues in an upward direction to the west of Survey No.49 and 148 at Gandiyanchi in
Chikkakondagula village and joins the northwestern point of Survey No.148 in
Chikkakondagula village. From there, it continues towards the northeast along the
Chikkakondagula (including the full revenue village) border, including Survey No.148, 151,
152, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 and reaches the southwest point of Survey No.32 where the8
boundaries of Mavinahali, Chikkakondagula and Tejur villages Reaches. Then it heads
northwards along the boundary of Mavinahalli, (including the complete revenue village)
including Survey No.32, 35, 07, 08, 09, 10 and 11 and reaches the north-west point of Survey
No.11 of Mavinahalli village.Then it continues eastwards along the northern boundary of
Mavinahalli village and reaches the northeastern point of Survey No.14 comprising Survey
No.11, 12, 05, 13, 14 of Mavinahalli village, the eastern point where the village boundaries
of Mavinahalli, Haralahalli, Gyaralli, meet and the Halebidu Hassan State Highway.Then it
crosses the state highway at the boundary of Survey No.61 of Haralahalli village towards the
north and then crosses Survey No.61, 13, 15, 6, 16, 20 at the boundary of Haralahalli village
(including the complete revenue village) and reaches the northern point of Survey No.16 of
Chikkahonnehalli village where the vehicles of Haralahalli Chikkahonnehalli and Yediyur
villages stop. From there, it continues eastwards along the boundary of Yediyur (including
the complete revenue village) village, including Survey No.22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 reaching
the north-eastern point of Survey No.28, which joins the Yediyur Doddakondagula
Chittanahalli boundary.From there it continues southwards along the boundary of Yediyur
village and reaches the north-eastern point of Survey No.30, where the boundaries of Yediyur,
Chittanahalli and Doddahonnehalli villages meet, including Survey Nos. 28, 29, 30. Then it
reaches the north-east point of Survey No.12 which joins the Chittanahalli, Doddahonnehalli
and Doddapura borders, comprising Survey No.44, 45, 46, 4, 6, 10, 12 at the boundary of
Doddahonnehali village, towards the southeast. Then it continues towards the northeast along
the boundary of Doddapur (including the complete revenue village) village and reaches the
north-west point of Survey No.167 of Doddapur village where Doddapur Chittanahalli and
Nidudi villages join, including Survey No.128, 135, 136, 137, 138, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161,
166, 167. Then from there, it continues eastwards along the border of Doddapur village,
including Survey No.167, 168, 169, 170, 171, 172, 173, 190, 191, 192, 195, 196, 197, 198,
204, 205, 209, 210 and reaches the northeastern point of Survey No.210 of Doddapur village,
which connects the villages of Chiranahalli and Doddapur. Then, along the border, it includes
Survey No.210, 14, 15, 17, 23 and along the border of Survey No.23, including the Hassan
Arasikere State Highway and Railway land and includes Survey No.24, 25, 26, 27, 28 of
Doddapur village and reaches the northeastern point of Sankenahalli Survey No.10, where the
borders of Doddapur, Sankenahalli, Koravangala and Koravangala Kavalu villages Reaches.
From there, it reaches the north-eastern point of Survey No.19 of Sankenahali village, which
joins the border of Sankenahalli, Koravangala Kavalu Lakshmisagara villages, including
Survey No.11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19 of Sankenahalli (including the complete revenue village)
village, at the boundary of Sankenahalli village. From there, it moves southwards and reaches
the north-east point of Survey No.42 of Boovanahali village, where the boundaries of
Sankenahalli and Lakshmisagar villages meet. Then, at the boundary of Boovanahalli village,
it moves southwards and reaches the south-east point of Survey No.44 of Boovanahalli
village, where the boundaries of Boovanahalli, Samudravalli and Yagadivali villages meet,
including Survey No.42, 43 and 44 of Boovanahalli (including the complete revenue village).
From there, it continues southwards along the boundary of Samudravalli village, including9
Survey No.1 and 2 of Samudravalli village (including the complete revenue village) and
reaches the eastern point of Survey No.2 of Samudravalli village, where the boundaries of
Samudravalli, Kenchattalli and Heggadihalli villages Reaches. Then it continues in a
southerly direction and crosses Survey No.23, 26 and 30 of Kenchattāhalli (including a
complete revenue village) village and intersects the Bangalore-Mangalore National Highway
in a southerly direction and reaches the southeast point of Survey No.31 of Kenchattāhalli
village where the boundaries of Kenchattāhalli Chikkagenigere and Heggadihalli villages of
Survey No.31 of Kenchattāhalli village Reaches. Thence westwards it intersects the
Mangalore-Bangalore railway line at Survey No.31, 32, 43, 44, 45, 46 in the southern part of
Kenchatthalli village and joins Survey No.47, 48, 61, 62, 63, 64 passing through the border
of Kenchatthalli Kasturvalli and Doddhahonnahalli villages. Then it also goes westwards
along the border of Kasturavalli (including the complete revenue village) village, passing
through Survey No.19, 20, 21, Majare 23, 26 reaching the southwest point of Survey No.26
of Kasturavalli village, which is served by Kasturavalli, Bustenahalli and Doddha honnahalli
villages. Thence westwards it reaches the western point of Survey No.24 of Bustenahalli
village, which joins Survey No.20, 21, 23, 24 on the boundary of Bustenahalli (including the
complete revenue village) village. From there, it joins the north-eastern point of Survey No.28
of Doddabasanahalli village, including Survey No.96, 95 of Bommanayakanahalli village,
Survey No.130, 131, 132, 137, 139, 140, 27, 28 of Doddabasanahalli village and the present
Hassan Metropolitan Municipality boundary, which joins the southwestern edge of
Gavenahalli, Gendekatte forest, Bommanayakanahalli and Rajghatta. Then, on the existing
Hassan Metropolitan Municipality boundary, Survey No.28, 29, 30, 43, 49, 50, 51, 57, 58, 59
intersecting the Hassan Mysore Railway line, towards the south of the Doddabasavanahalli
village boundary Survey No.60, 62, 63, 64, 65, 87 reaching the southeast point of Survey
No.87 of Doddabasavanahalli village where Doddabasavanahalli, Chikkabasavanahalli,
Kachanayakanahalli villages Reaches. Then, it reaches the point on the Hassan-Mysore
Highway where the boundaries of Doddabasavanahalli, Kaushika, Nagatavalli and Bomma-
nayakanaahalli villages, including Survey No.97 and 105, join the southern boundary of
Doddabasavanahalli village. Thence southwards, it continues in the middle of the highway on
the eastern boundary of Nagathavalli village and reaches the western edge of Hassan-Mysore
highway where the boundaries of Nagathavalli, Kaushika and Kenchanahalli villages of
Survey No.10 join, including the Survey road of Nagathavalli village bearing Survey No.54,
55, 56, 61, 09, 10. Then counterclockwise, it reaches the north-west point of Survey No.43 of
Nagathavalli village, where the boundaries of Nagathavalli Kokkanaghatta and Samudravalli
village Reaches, including Survey No.10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, 35, 36, 37,
41, 42, 43 in the village boundary of Nagathavalli (including the complete revenue village).
Thence it goes around the village boundary of Kokkanaghatta (including the complete
revenue village) anti-clockwise and reaches the south-eastern point of Survey No.19 of
Thattekere village where the boundaries of Kokkanaghatta Singh Patna and Thattekere village
Reaches, including Survey No.141, 142, 144, 146, 147, 151, 152, 155, 156, 157, 158, 13, 26,
38. Then westwards along the boundary of Thattekere (including the complete revenueR.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19

village) village, including Survey No.19, 20, 21 and also along the boundary of J.I. Thattekere
village, including Survey No.175, 119, 120, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 164,
165, 167, 169, 171, 173, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 174, it reaches the north-west point
of Survey No.184 of Thattekere village, where the boundaries of J.I Thattekere milk and
Doddamandiganahalli Reaches. Then it crosses the stream and reaches the southwestern point
of Survey No.24, which joins the boundaries of the villages of Devarayapattana
Doddamandinahalli and Haluvagilu, including Survey No.13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 23, 24 of
Doddamandiganahalli village. Then, at the southern boundary of Devarayapattana village, it
goes westwards through Survey No.37, 38, 39, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 65, 66, 67
of Devarayapattana village (including the complete revenue village) and from there, it goes
northwards through Survey No.67, 70, 71 at the western boundary of Devarayapattana and
meets the Bangalore Mangalore Bypass Road. Then it intersects the bypass road in a northerly
direction and joins the north-west point of Survey No.17, which includes Survey No.12, 16,
17 and joins the boundaries of Devarayapattana, Anachihalli and Handinakere villages. From
there westwards, Survey No.447, 448, 450, 452, 453, 454, 455, 423, 422 roads 221, 223, 224,
154, 153, 151, 79, 78, 77, 86, 70, 71, 278, 279, 365, 346 (including Arekallu Hosalli complete
village) 348, 349, 350, 351, 354, 355 and 357 on the border of Handinakere village join the
Hassan Belur Road, where the borders of Handinakere, Uddur Huivanahalli Kavalu Koralli
village join and join the starting point of Hassan Metropolitan Municipality boundary.
