NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 3, 4 read with Section 9 of The Karnataka
Municipalities Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor, hereby includes the adjacent Survey Number’ Areas
and excludes the adjacent Survey Number’ Areas into existing Town Municipal Council Area of Indi,6
Vijayapur District as mentioned in Schedule ‘A’ along with boundaries mentioned in Schedule ‘B’ into the
existing ‘Town Municipal Area’ of Indi having regard to:
1. The population of such area is not less than twenty thousand and not more than Fifty
Thousand; 39,184
2. The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred inhabitants
to one square kilometer of area; 1,595
3. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax sources
in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine lakhs per annum or a sum
calculated at the rate of rupees forty five per capita per annum, whichever is higher;
Rs.18,000/-
4. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per cent of
the total employment: 57%
The Notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All persons, who would like to
file any objection/suggestion to this Notification, are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in
writing to the Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30
days from publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette. Further, Notification will be taken up for
final consideration after the said 30 days’ period.
