The Ministry of Labour & Employment, through the Labour Bureau, released the Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers (CPI-AL) and Rural Labourers (CPI-RL) for August 2025, with base year 2019=100. The data is collected from 787 sample villages across 34 States/UTs.
Key highlights for August 2025:
* The All-India CPI-AL increased by 1.03 points to 136.34. The CPI-RL increased by 0.94 points to 136.60.
* The Food Index increased by 1.39 points for AL and 1.29 points for RL.
* The year-on-year inflation rate for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers stood at 1.07% and 1.26%, respectively.
* Food inflation for AL was -0.55% and for RL was -0.28%.

The Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment, releases Consumer Price Index Numbers for
Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers (CPI – AL & RL) with the base year 2019=100 for the
month of August 2025. These indices are based on data collected from a set of 787 sample villages
across 34 States/UTs.
For the month of August 2025, the All-India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers (Base:
2019=100) increased by 1.03 points to 136.34, while the index for Rural Labourers increased by 0.94 points,
reaching 136.60. The Food Index increased by 1.39 points for Agricultural Labourers (AL) and 1.29 points for
Rural Labourers (RL) in August 2025.
