The Office of The Welfare Commissioner under the Ministry of Labour & Employment,
Government of India, has invited online applications for educational scholarships for the
academic year 2026–27 for children of Beedi, Cine and Mine workers, including contract workers
engaged in Limestone, Dolomite, Manganese Ore, Chrome and Iron Ore mines.
Under the scheme, financial assistance is available to eligible students from Class I onwards,
including those pursuing higher education and professional courses. The scholarship amount
ranges from ₹1,000 to ₹25,000 per year, depending on the class or course of study. Students
from Classes I–IV will receive ₹1,000, Classes V–VIII ₹1,500, Classes IX–X ₹2,000, Classes XI–
XII ₹3,000, ITI/Polytechnic/Degree courses (including B.Sc. Agriculture) ₹6,000, and
professional courses such as BE, MBBS and MBA ₹25,000.
