Ministry of Company Affairs BIS Conducts Enforcement Raid in Mumbai, Seizes 64 Non-Certified Power Adaptors प्रव तथ: 04 DEC 2025 4:08PM by PIB Mumbai The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Mumbai Branch Office conducted an enforcement raid on November 28, 2025 at M/s Ratan IT Solutions, 2nd Floor, Room No. 01, Suresh Patil Building, JP Road, Andheri West, Mumbai. The action was taken on information regarding misuse of the Standard Mark. During the raid, it was found that the enterprise was engaged in sell, hire, lease, store or exhibit Power Adaptors for IT Equipments for sale without Standard mark. The Power Adaptors for IT Equipments were not BIS certified as per IS 13252(Part 1):2010 which is a violation of Section 17(1) and (3) of BIS Act 2016. Approximately 64 numbers of such Power Adaptors for IT Equipments were seized during the raid, as Section 17(1) and (3) of BIS Act 2016 had been violated. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India’s National Standards Body established under the BIS Act 2016, continues its efforts to ensure consumer safety and promote quality compliance. BIS plays a key role in formulating standards, product certification, laboratory testing and system certification, thereby contributing significantly to the national economy by enabling safe, reliable and high-quality goods and supporting major public policies related to consumer protection, product safety, food safety, environment protection and construction. Under the BIS Act 2016, no person is permitted to manufacture, distribute, sell, hire, lease or exhibit any product using the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) or any imitation of it without a valid BIS licence.
