Ambedkar Veedi, Bengaluru, dated: 12.05.2026 ORDER Whereas powers conferred under subsection (2) of Section 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act No.40 of 2025), the Government of Karnataka has amended the provisions as notified in Para No.4 of amendment of the First Schedule of the Code of Civil Procedure (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act No.40 of 2025) along with other provisions. The said amended provisions was brought into force by publication vide Gazette Notification dated: 26-05-2025. Whereas difficulties have arisen in giving effect to the provisions of Para No.4 of amendment of the First Schedule of the Code of Civil Procedure (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act No.40 of 2025), with regard to the case instituted prior to 05-06-2025, and in order to clarify the said position in so far as the filing of the written statement to suit instituted prior to 05-06-2025 by continuing the unamended provisions, the Government of Karnataka notifies as here under; (1)R.N.I. LAW-LCE/281/2024, Bengaluru, Dated: 12.05.2026 In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 8 of Code of Civil Procedure (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act No.40 of 2025), the Government of Karnataka hereby notifies that, the amended provisions as notified in Para No.4 of amendment of the First Schedule of the Code of Civil Procedure (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2024 (Karnataka Act No.40 of 2025) shall operate prospectively, that is with effect from 05-06-2025.
