3. कायक ाल
सजमजत का काय काल, जनम्न जलजखत व् यिस्ट् ा के अध् याधीन, उसके ग न की तारीख से तीन िषों का अगा
(क) सजमजत में नामिद संसद सदस्ट् य, उनकी संसद की सदस्ट् यता समाप् त अते ी इस सजमजत के सदस्ट् य भी न र गें े ।
(ख) सजमजत के पदने -सदस्ट् य, उस समय तक ी सजमजत के सदस्ट् य र गें े िब तक दक ि े उस पद पर र े जिसके कारण ि े
सजमजत के सदस्ट् य बन े ,ं और
(ग) यदद दकसी सदस्ट् य की मृत् या अ िाने अ िा त् याग-पत्र दे देने के पषरणामस्ट् िरूप सजमजत में कअई षरजि अ िाती
तअ उनके स्ट् ान पर जनयाक्त सदस्ट् य िेष काय काल तक पद धारण करेंग े।

समय पर य ा-संिअजधत जनधा षरत दरों पर जनयमों के अनासार यात्रा भत् ता और द जनक भत् ता ददया िाएगा ।

II. Function
The Samiti will advise the D/O Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation on
matters relating to progressive use of Hindi for official purpose and allied issues.
III. Tenure
The term of the Samiti will be three years from the date of its constitution provided that:
(a) A Member, who is a Member of Parliament, ceases to be a Member of the Samiti as soon as he
ceases to be a Member of Parliament.
(b) Ex-Officio Members of the Samiti shall continue as members as long as they hold the office by

(c) If a vacancy arises in the Samiti due to death or resignation of a member, the member appointed
that capacity shall hold office for the residual term.
IV. General
The Headquarter of the Samiti shall be at New Delhi but it may hold its meeting at any other
station also.
Travelling and Other Allowances
The Non-Official Member will be paid travelling and daily allowances for attending the meeting of
the Samiti as per the guidelines of Department of Official Language contained in the office Memorandum
No. 11/20034/4/86-OL (A-2) dated 22nd January, 1987 and in accordance with the prescribed rate and rules
as amended from time to time by Government of India.

Ordered that a copy of this Resolution be communicated to all the members of the Samiti, all State
Governments and Union Territory Administrations, President’s Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office,
Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Rajya Sabha Secretariat,
Comptroller and Auditor General of India and all the Ministries/Departments of Government of India.
