NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 3 read with section-4, 9, 349, 351 and 355 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the ‘Grama Panchayat Area of Ponnampete’ which is a Taluka Head Quarter of Kodagu District proposed to be declar ed as Transitional area of Ponnampete, as mentioned in the Schedule “A” along with boundaries mentioned in the Schedule “B” is hereby proposed to be declared as the “Transitional Area of Ponnampete” and further “Town Panchayat Area of Ponnampete” with effect from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette by His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka having regard to: i. The population of such area is not less than ten thousand and not more than Twenty thousand; ii. The density of population in such area is not less than four hundred inhabitants to one square kilometer of area; iii. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per cent of the total employment. The notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All the persons, who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30 days from publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette. East: The proposed Eastern boundary of Ponnampet Gram Panchayat starts at partial area at survey number 1/2 of Mathuru village. Moving southwards along the village boundary of Balaji Village it passes through Survey Numbers 3/4, 3/1, 5/3, 5/10, 5/8, 5/5, 5/2,5/11, 5/3, 5/7, 5/4, 9/1, 9/2, 10/12, 10/13, 10/14, 10/2, 10/8, 10/3, 68/1, 64, 58, 91/4, 91/1, 92/4, 53, 46/2, 48/1, 44/3, 44/1, 47 of Mathuru village and ends at a stream at survey Number 127 of Mugutageri Village. South: The proposed Southern boundary of Ponnampet Gram Panchayat starts at Survey Number 100 of Mugutageri village at South east. Further it moves towards west through a stream at Survey Number 105/2 of Mugutageri village, and survey number 106, 107, 109, 144/1, 145- Bordering Hudikeri Village to end at survey number 146/2 of Mugutageri village. West: The proposed western boundary of Pornnampet Gram Panchayat begins at Survey Number 139 of Aruvathokkalu village at North West direction. Further it moves towards down south via survey numbers 131, 132/4, 133, 134/4, 134/2, 134/5, 134/15 to end Halligattu village while covering areas of survey Numbers 14, 41, 39/1, 38, 67, 37, 66, 84, 95, 100, 99, 133 of Halligattu village. Further the proposed boundary continues from survey Numbers of 8/3, 8/2, 8/1, 20/1 and 21/3 of Hudooru Village and passes through a stream at survey number 30/3 and further continues through Survey Numbers 30/10, 30/1, 35, 36/50, 36/13, 36/11 to move towards Survey Numbers 15/1, 35/2, 129 including a stream at survey number 128.
