Posted On: 25 SEP 2026 7:39PM by PIB Delhi The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment , Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, organised a special awareness session titled Swachhata se Sabhyata in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris at the Ministry’s Manan Conference Room, in the National Capital here today.

The session was held as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, being observed across the country from September 17 to October 2 with a focus on Jan Bhagidari.Addressing officers and staff, Sister Vidarthi of the Brahma Kumaris spoke about the connection between inner values and the cleanliness of one’s surroundings.

Citing the principle Jaisi Awastha, Waisi Vyavastha, she explained that a person’s state of mind shapes the

order they create around them, whether at home, in the workplace or in the wider community.

Referring to the maxim Cleanliness is next to Godliness, Sister Vidarthi encouraged participants to regard cleanliness as a practice rooted in self-respect and inner purity, alongside their civic responsibilities.She emphasised respect for nature, social sensitivity and simple living, and observed that lasting physical cleanliness is supported by cleanliness in thought, speech and conduct.

Sister Vidarthi also highlighted recycling as a practical habit that promotes responsible use of resources and contributes to better waste management.
